During the Sundance Film Festival London 2022, Sam spoke to writer and director Max Walker-Silverman about his 81 minute long movie A Love Story.
Sam and Max spoke on-stage about the challenges of low-budget filmmaking, shooting on 16mm film stock, and working with acting legends Dale Dickey and Wes Studi.

Hanna has chosen the 1952 horror drama The White Reindeer (68 mins). Directed by Erik Blomberg, the film stars Mirjami Kuosmanen, Kalervo Nissilä, Åke Lindman, and Arvo Lehesmaa.
Sam and Hanna discuss the making of her movie Hatching, why The White Reindeer is an enduring Finnish classic and her love of fairy tales and fables.

In episode 84 Sam is joined by filmmaker Charlie Shackleton, director of unique new film The Afterlight (82 mins).
Charlie has chosen the darkly funny archive documentary, The Atomic Cafe (86 mins), directed by Jayne Loader, Kevin Rafferty, and Pierce Rafferty. This 1982 cult classic juxtaposes Cold War history, propaganda, music and culture, seamlessly crafted from government-produced educational and training films, newsreels and advertisements.
Sam and Charlie discuss The Afterlight's unique distribution plan, the transporting power of The Atomic Cafe, and the challenges that would have gone into making a film like this in 1982.
